Garden Ministry

Through science, effort, and giving, the Garden Ministry seeks to teach individuals and families how to employ our greatest natural resource, the earth, for sustenance and sustainability. This ministry focuses on growing fresh foods during the appropriate months of the year for the benefit of local families. We plow, prep, and plant on church land some common varieties of vegetables and legumes, such as okra, collard greens, and string beans, as well as many others. These foods are grown and cared for so that the residents of the community and families of the congregation may enjoy the taste and wholesomeness fresh foods. Our experienced gardeners are willing to help other interested people become involved in gardening; in doing so, they will learn how food grows and what it takes to harvest a successful crop.
