Rev. Dr. J. N. Crout is a respected pastor-teacher and servant-leader. As a young man, he dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and became focused on serving the needs of his community 
 
Pastor Crout attended Detroit Bible College and graduated with a B.A. degree in Theology and Psychology. Years later, he was conferred an honorary doctorate degree from the Tennessee School of Religion. 
 
As a resident of Ypsilanti for over 60 years, Pastor Crout has a heart for the people of the community. As founder and senior pastor of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, he promotes holistic healing through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and faithfulness to the principles of God’s Word.
 
Pastor Crout has also spearheaded community enrichment initiatives. Helping Hands Charity, Inc. is a non-profit organization that serves and supports the individual and the community at large by receiving monetary and material donations and matching contributions with local needs. He also helped to established P.E.A.C.E. (Partnership in Economic Alliance for Community Empowerment), a community development corporation. 
 
Pastor Crout is married to Audrey, his wife and ministry partner of more than 40 years. They are proud parents and grandparents.
